Email:
elainecunningham@cox.net
I read and respond to emails
personally, usually within a few days. Before writing, please note
the following:
- Please browse the
FAQ page to see if your question has
already been addressed.
- Like most of you, I receive an
enormous amount of spam, so please use a subject line that
includes the title of the book you'd like to discuss, the
name of a character--anything that will make my finger pause on the
delete button. A simple "From a reader" will do the job.
Warning: If you jokingly entitle your email something
along the lines of, "This is NOT about Viagra," most likely my
spam filters will delete it unread.
- Please don't ask me to critique
your manuscript or evaluate your story ideas. Like most working
writers, I don't read the unpublished work of other writers, not
only because of time constraints, but to avoid possible
copyright tangles.
- I do not have author photos. The eight-by-ten glossy is a celebrity
thing; I'm just a writer, and a camera-shy writer, at that.
Snail mail:
Questions and comments about a book can be sent
to me in care of the respective
publisher. Keep in mind, however, that some publishers may not
forward fan mail for several months. I've received letters that
were sent to me c/o the publisher nine or ten months earlier.
Unfortunately, this is the best option available for snail mail,
as I do not have a PO box.
Newsletter:
Occasional (six or seven times a year) email updates will be sent to
people who've requested them. If you'd like to be added to
the list, please send me an
email with Subscribe
to Newsletter in the subject line.
Message boards or news groups:
I don't subscribe to any news
groups, and my current workload doesn't allow much time for
online interaction. The best way to reach me is through
email.
