I just finished the Changeling Detective Series today & went looking for more. When I found this I mentally dropped to my knees & yelled whyyyyy! Ok so a little dramatic, (lol) but still I was really disappointed.

“Advance the plot. Raise the stakes. Expand your character’s goals. Create a crisis.” This is great writing advice. In my own (very) amateur attempts at writing I have a fairly strong beginning and ending but the middles die on the vine. It feels very akin to those DnD adventures where you “leave the inn, travel for a few days, and come upon the lair of the dragon”.

To day that Honor Bound “raises the stakes and creates a crisis” is an understatement.
