March 2012 Contest
The Thorn trilogy will conclude this month with Word of Honor, which will be available as an ebook original in late March. To help get the word out, I’m running a simple contest:
Between now and midnight (EST) on March 31, post a review of one (or more) of the Tales of Sevrin novels on one of the online bookseller websites, a book review website or blog, GoodReads, a message board, social media wall, or personal blog. Reviews that were posted before March 2012 are eligible entries. You can enter as many times as you like, as long as each entry represents a different book or review site.
After you post a review, send me an email at elainecunningham@cox.net with THORN CONTEST in the subject line and a link to your review in the email. Each entry will be assigned a number (the first one I receive is number 1, and so on….) and three winners will be chosen by the random number generator at www.random.org.
Winners can choose one of the following:
- Gift ebook copy of both Honor Bound and Word of Honor (ideal for people who read and review the first ebook, Honor Among Thieves)
- Gift ebook copy of the next Tales of Sevrin novel (available in late May)
- Signed copy of the Thorn trilogy print omnibus (available in late April)
- Signed copy of Winter Witch, a Pathfinder Tales novel
Reviews don’t need to be long, carefully considered essays. I’d love to hear your thoughts, but I do understand that not everyone has the time or inclination to write detailed reviews. A couple of sentences, or even a 140-character tweet (or re-tweet) will do it.
For quick links to these books’ pages on various ebookstores (Amazon Kindle store, Nook bookstore, and SmashWords), please click over to the Books page.
Thanks, in advance, to the folks who participate!

February 2012 Contest, now closed
I’m very pleased to join over a dozen speculative fiction writers–mostly novelists, but some short story and comic writers as well–in a contest designed to introduce readers to new voices.
Here’s how it works:
Each author involved is running a contest on his or her site. The specific details vary from author to author, but each contest has a few details in common. Each author will select two winners. Each of those winners will receive one signed book, free, from the author whose contest they won.
Once the contests have ended, all the authors involved will get together and choose one “super-winner” from all the entries on all our sites combined. This winner receive a signed book, free, from every one of the authors involved.
Yep. Somebody out there’s going to win over a dozen free books.
You can only enter each author’s contest once, but you may enter multiple contests. You can find a complete list of the authors involved, as well as links to their sites, below. But first…
How to enter my contest:
Send an email to elainecunningham AT cox DOT net with “Crossing the Streams” in the subject line. In the body of the email, suggest a name for a house drake (a dragon that’s about the size of a cat.) I will select two winners. One will be chosen at random, so if the best you can come up with is “George,” you could still win a signed book. The person who suggests the name that most appeals to me will win the other book.
EDIT: As of 2/24/2012, you can also enter by adding a comment below.
Entries must be received between February 1st and February 29th, 2012.
Prizes: My two winners, and the super-winner, may choose any one of the following prizes.
- Honor Among Thieves (print copy)
- Winter Witch, a Pathfinder Tales novel
- A 5-book set of Songs & Swords novels (Forgotten Realms) in Spanish translation: Elfshadow, Elfsong, Silver Shadows, Dream Spheres, and Thornhold
The Rest of the Gang
I hope you’ll enter more than one contest. Take a few minutes to explore the authors’ websites. If anything intriques you, consider buying a book or two. Who knows? You might find a new favorite auther.
Thanks, and good luck.
Thanks to everyone who entered! The contest is now closed, and winners will be announced shortly.
