A: I no longer maintain a post office box, so
there's no easy way to send me a book to sign. If you're really
determined, you can send a book to the respective publisher (information
available on the
Links page) and request that it
be forwarded to me.
Be warned that this is a time-consuming and
expensive process. You'll need to pay for postage three times over, and
include two padded mailing envelopes. On one of these, write my name
as recipient and leave the address blank. Address the other to
yourself. Make sure both have sufficient postage
affixed to ensure that the book will find its way to me, and then back to you. Media mail
take a week or more, but it's the
most economical rate.
Recently I discovered a much more
convenient way of handling these requests. If you're familiar with
PayPal and would like to purchase a signed and personalized book directly,
drop me an email with the relevant information. If I've got a copy
of the book (or can get one reasonably quickly,) I'll contact the folks at
PayPal with your email address and transaction details. (The cover
price of the book will also cover postage costs and PayPal fees for
shipment to North America.)
They will send you a notice with payment instructions. It's easy and
secure, and anyone who shops Ebay already knows the drill.
